Company Description

The Nucla Public Library welcomes patrons of all ages and cultural backgrounds and realizes that everyone has diverse needs, interests, values systems and reading abilities. Not all materials will be suitable of interest to all of the community.

The Library’s service to children is designed to stimulate a desire for lifelong learning, to develop a love for reading, to provide opportunities for parent-child sharing and interactions and to offer supplementary resources for school assignments .

The Library encourages parents to accompany their children to the library and supports parents’ rights and responsibilities to guide their children’s reading and viewing materials.

A trained staff is provided to assist parents and children in accessing and choosing the most appropriate materials. The Library does not determine what children should read, view or borrow. The Library does not act in loco parentis , but rather provides materials, programming and a physical environment that supports a parent’s and a child’s search for diverse materials and ideas.
Collection development is also a community involvement. If at any time a patron has a request, or idea for the library, please share them with the librarian.
