The Arthritis Center of Western Colorado specializes in complex rheumatologic diseases.

Dr. Jessica Baer Mears provides consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a wide range of systemic diseases and conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, myositis, polyarthritis, vasculitis, psoriatic arthritis, scleroderma, Sjogren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosis, and mixed connective tissue disease.

Dr. Cappiello, originally from Pennsylvania, began his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware and attended medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He then completed his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of South Florida. His unique achievements include receiving “Florida’s Super-Doc/ Top Doctor” designation several times since 2008.

Prior to moving to the Grand Valley, Dr. Cappiello was in private practice in South Florida. He has particular interests in osteoporosis and inflammatory illnesses.

Dr. Cappiello’s mission is his commitment to providing individualized, comprehensive and compassionate care to all patients. He is eager to serve the Grand Valley community for their musculoskeletal needs.

Eva is a Board Certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She earned her undergraduate RN degree at the University of South Florida and her ARNP degree at Florida Atlantic University.

In addition to Eva’s extensive nursing experience, her knowledge of biologic infusion and administration brings another professional level of patient care to the Grand Valley. Recently relocating to Colorado, she looks forward to expanding the role of infusion therapy to better care for patients of the Arthritis Center of Western Colorado.

These chronic conditions can have a significant impact on daily function for patients. For these conditions, there are opportunities to improve the quality of life and prolong longevity. Achieving disease control is almost always within reach, but cures are more elusive.
